BOTH SIDES ARE OPERATING FROM FEAR.

The right fears losing to China and losing freedom.
The left fears losing jobs and losing control.

They're both right to be afraid.


But fear-based policy rarely produces good outcomes.


What we need is PRACTICAL ADAPTATION:

Education at scale (teach HOW to use AI)
Safety standards (like cars - protect without preventing)
Worker transition programs (help displaced workers)
Competitive markets (prevent monopolies, support startups)
Transparency requirements (know when talking to AI)
MOST IMPORTANTLY: PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

YOU DON'T NEED PERMISSION

You don't need the government to save you.
You don't need the market to solve it.
